Jody McPhillips is a Knight International Journalism Fellow
and consultant who is launching the International Media Institute of India (IMII) in New Delhi. The non-profit educational center will marry cutting-edge, hands-on journalism instruction with the highest international standards.

McPhillips worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for nearly three decades, covering a wide variety of beats including medicine, law, politics, government and social issues. She covered Congress and national issues during four years in The Providence Journal’s Washington bureau.
After two years as a reporter and editor at The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh, McPhillips went on assignment to the Republic of Georgia as a Knight International Journalism Fellow. In Georgia, she taught at the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management, worked with regional reporters and founded the Caucasus Investigative Reporting Center. Since then, she has taught journalism in Aceh, Indonesia, and worked with reporters, editors and university students in Dili, East Timor.
